Why a Home Paternity Test Kit Can't Be Used for Legal Reasons
Our paternity test reports from at-home cheek swabs cannot be used as legal proof of paternity or legal denial of paternity. They cannot be used for legal reasons, including child support, custody, or Social Security benefits. This is because we do not have a chain-of-custody protocol. We also do not use any independent verification of each party's identity. A third-party has to witness the DNA collection when testing is needed for legal purposes. However, you can rest assured that your results will be accurate for personal knowledge and peace of mind.
How to Determine If You Need Court-Admissible DNA Results

What Happens if Two Alleged Fathers Are Related
There may be a case when two alleged fathers are related, such as two men who are brothers, cousins, or father and son. Please let us know if this is the case. The more DNA samples we are able to get and analyze, the better. When there is a possibility of the two alleged fathers being related, it is of utmost importance to also have the biological mother's DNA sample.
Timeline for Paternity Results
As soon as we receive all of the DNA samples associated with your request, we start processing them. Our state-of-the-art laboratory has genetic analysis equipment that allows us to process the sample and generate a report within 2-3 weeks. We'll have the result uploaded to your secure, HIPAA-compliant portal so you can view them as soon as they’re ready. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.
